Alexis Sanchez tells Arsenal to sign this Barcelona star – report

Alexis Sanchez wants Arsene Wenger to sign Arda Turan for Arsenal, according to reports in Spain

Alexis Sanchez has urged Arsenal to sign Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Don Balon are reporting that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has noted Sanchez’s recommendation and has put together an offer for the Turkey international.

Turan struggled to tie down a regular starting spot in the Barcelona first-team in the second half of the season under manager Luis Enrique after moving to Camp Nou in a £35m deal from their rivals Atletico Madrid last summer.

The 29-year-old started just nine La Liga games for the Spanish title winners, although the Turkish playmaker did make a further nine appearances from the bench.

Turan was part of Diego Simeone’s side that won La Liga, Copa del Rey and the Europa League during a four-year stay at Vicente Calderon.

Sanchez moved to Arsenal in a £35m deal from Barcelona in 2014 following the World Cup in Brazil.

Wenger has signed three players in the summer transfer window so far.
