Andreas Pereira sends message to Man United boss Jose Mourinho
Andreas Pereira is determined to impress new Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho this season
Andreas Pereira insists that he is determined to impress new manager Jose Mourinho at Manchester United this season.
The 20-year-old put in an impressive display and scored United’s second goal in the 2-0 friendly win over Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon in what was Mourinho’s first official game in charge of the Red Devils.
The youngster will be hoping to impress Mourinho and earn a regular spot in the United first team this season under the club’s new manager.
And he has vowed to continue working hard to impress the Portuguese coach as the new Premier League season draws ever nearer.
Speaking to MUTV after Saturday’s game at the DW Stadium, Pereira said: “I’m very happy that I scored in this game, and yeah, it was not a bad strike at all.
“I think it was very important for me to get some minutes and show the manager and show the team that I can help them. I am very happy that I could help.
“I want to show the manager, to show the people around the club, to show the players that I can help this season. It’s very important for me. I want to show this in training and just keep working hard.”
United moved quickly to appoint Mourinho as their new manager following the club’s decision to sack Louis van Gaal at the end of last season.
The Red Devils will play in the Europa League next term after they missed out on a place in next season’s Champions League following their fifth-placed finish.
