Antonio Conte delivers latest Chelsea summer transfer update
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte refuses to be drawn on talk of further summer signings
Antonio Conte says he prefers to keep his transfer plans for Chelsea “a secret”.
The Blues manager has signed two players in the summer transfer window so far, despite being linked with a number of different targets since taking over.
Belgium international Michy Batshuayi became the new Chelsea boss’s first signing after the west London side agreed a £34m deal with Ligue 1 side Marseille.
The 2015 Premier League champions wrapped up a £30m deal for Leicester City’s title-winning midfielder N’Golo Kante at the weekend.
However, Conte was remaining tight-lipped when asked about the prospect of completing some further signings in the summer transfer window.
“About this situation I always prefer to speak with the club,” Conte is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. “We know our targets and the most important thing is there is a great synergy between me and the club on the transfer market.
“It’s not important to speak outside, but to keep the secret is very important at this moment.”
Chelsea were 3-0 winners against RZ Pellets WAC thanks to goals from Bertrand Traore, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Nathaniel Chalobah in Austria.
The west London side lost their first game under Conte at the weekend following a surprise 2-0 defeat by Rapid Vienna.
Chelsea finished in tenth place in the Premier League last season.
