Antonio Conte: My thoughts on Chelsea star Eden Hazard

Antonio Conte says he is pleased about Eden Hazard's attitude in Chelsea's pre-season training sessions

Antonio Conte says that he has been impressed by what he has seen from Eden Hazard in Chelsea’s pre-season training sessions so far.

The Belgian playmaker linked up with his Blues team-mates in recent days and flew to the United States for their pre-season tour as Conte gears up for his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Hazard was given an extended summer holiday after his involvement in Euro 2016 with Belgium in France.

However, the 25-year-old is now fully back in the swing of things as he and his Chelsea team-mates prepare for the 2016-17 campaign and Conte’s first season in England.

Hazard came in for plenty of criticism last season for failing to produce consistent displays for the west London side.

However, new Chelsea boss Conte says that he has been happy about what he has seen from both Hazard and his Belgium team-mate Thibaut Courtois in recent days.

Speaking at a news conference on Tuesday night, Conte said: “I am pleased Eden and Thibaut started to work with us.

“I am seeing the right attitude for them, and from all the players.

“This is the most important thing for me. Normally after a period of rest the body needs to relax, and now the players are starting to work very well, finding the right shape for the season.

“It is important to work so I can transfer my idea of football and to work on the tactical and physical aspects, the mentality and video analysis.”

Chelsea finished 10th in the Premier League last season.
