Argentina striker’s wife confirms Arsenal and Tottenham interest
Mauro Icardi is wanted by Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to his agent and wife
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi, according to the Argentina striker’s wife.
The former Sampdoria forward was in excellent form for the San Siro outfit last season after a return of 16 goals in 33 Serie A games in the 2015/16 campaign after being named as the club’s new permanent skipper.

Icardi is yet to make an impression at international level after racking up just one appearance for the Argentina national team, securing his only cap in a 3-2 defeat by Uruguay in a World Cup qualifier in 2013.
However, the South American’s performances for club side Inter have been sufficient to alert some of Europe’s biggest clubs to his talent during the summer transfer window.
And Icardi’s agent and wife Wanda Nara has revealed that Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea are among six clubs chasing the Argentina forward this summer.
“People try to make me look like some crazy agent. There are many offers for him, but it’s not my job to negotiate with other clubs. My role is to discuss Mauro’s contract,” Nara told Corriere della Sera – as quoted by Football Italia.
“I do know that Atletico Madrid, Tottenham and Arsenal came forward. Now there are Roma and Napoli in there too.
“Last week the Juventus director of sport Fabio Paratici met with (Inter chief Piero) Ausilio and asked for Icardi, offering an important sum, over €50m. Then they’ll say it isn’t true, but that’s what happened: I don’t tell lies.”

Icardi has netted 47 times in 91 Serie A games for Inter since his move to the San Siro outfit from Sampdoria in 2013.
The Argentinian is a former member of Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy before moving to the south of Italy in 2011.
