Arsenal, Chelsea will have to pay huge transfer fee for defender – report
Roma want £38m (€45m) for Arsenal and Chelsea target Kostas Manolas, according to reports in Italy
Arsenal and Chelsea will have to pay a massive transfer fee if they want to land Greece and Roma defender Kostas Manolas this summer, according to reports in Italy.
Gazzetta World are reporting that Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in the centre-half after Manchester United already failed with a bid for the Roma star.
The same article is claiming that the Serie A side value Manolas at £38m (€45m) as Roma look to avoid losing another big name in the summer transfer window following Miralem Pjanic’s sale to champions Juventus.
The Greece international has scored two goals in 80 appearances for the Rome outfit following his move to the Italian capital from Greek side Olympiacos in 2014.
Arsenal have been linked with a host of different players in the summer transfer window, although the Gunners have only signed Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka and Japanese forward Takuma Asano so far.

Chelsea completed their second signing of the summer on Saturday afternoon after Leicester City’s Premier League-winning midfielder N’Golo Kante completed a £30m switch to Stamford Bridge.
The west London side signed Belgium international Michy Batshauyi in a £30m deal from Ligue 1 side Marseille earlier this month.
