Arsenal confident of keeping defender despite Bayern Munich interest – report
Arsenal are hoping to keep Laurent Koscielny despite Bayern Munich interest, according to London Evening Standard
Arsenal are confident of keeping hold of Laurent Koscielny despite interest from Bayern Munich, according to the London Evening Standard.
The France international’s future at the Gunners has been a source of speculation this summer during les Bleus’s European championship campaign.
Champions League holders Real Madrid were linked with a move for the Arsenal centre-half earlier this week as a potential replacement for Rafael Varane.
Bundesliga champions Bayern have since emerged as another potential suitor for the 30-year-old centre-half in the summer transfer window.
According to London Evening Standard, Arsenal are ready to resist interest from Bayern for Koscielny in light of the defender’s long-term contract at the Emirates Stadium.
The British media outlet has claimed that Koscielny’s Gunners deal will run until 2019, which will see the Frenchman remain at Arsenal until the age of 33.
Koscielny scored 20 times in 248 appearances in all competitions for the north London outfit since his move from Lorient in 2010.
The French defender has won two FA Cup crowns during a six-year stay at The Emirates.
