Arsenal given fresh hope in pursuit of £55m attacker – report
Arsenal are being linked with a £55m bid to sign Julian Draxler from Wolfsburg, according to reports
Arsenal have been put on alert about the possibility of signing Julian Draxler this summer after Wolfsburg hinted that they could sell the player, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is claiming that the Gunners could be set to step up their interest in the German World Cup winner and that Wolfsburg could be ready to sell.
The same story says that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is a long-term admirer of Draxler and has been linked with a move to sign the playmaker in the past.
Wolfsburg are said to be experiencing some financial problems after missing out on a place in next season’s Champions League.
And the same report goes on to say that the Bundesliga outfit could be willing to sell Draxler for a £55m fee this summer.
Arsenal have been linked with a host of players in the summer transfer window but have thus far only signed midfielder Granit Xhaka and striker Takuma Asano.
The Gunners finished in second place in the Premier League table last season, 10 points behind champions Leicester City.
