Arsenal interested in signing PSG star this summer – report
Arsenal are keen to sign Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Marquinhos this summer, say reports
Arsenal are among the clubs interested in a move to sign Paris Saint-Germain centre-half Marquinhos this summer, according to the player’s brother.
French publication L’Equipe – as reported by the Daily Express – claim that Barcelona, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United have all made enquiries about signing the defender.
The north London side are believed to be on the lookout for defensive reinforcements as Arsene Wenger bids to revamp his squad ahead of next season.
The Gunners have been linked with a host of players in the summer transfer window but have thus far only signed midfielder Granit Xhaka and attacker Takuma Asano.
Now, the player’s brother has alerted a number of clubs to Marquinhos’s potential availability this summer by admitting that the defender could leave PSG this summer.
Speaking in an interview with L’Equipe, as reported by the Daily Express, Marquinhos’ brother Luan said: “Marquinhos has always been exemplary with the club – he’s never complained.
“He has, however, often been a spectator during big matches… we were clear Marquinhos is going to play at the Olympics.
“They have to show us a minimum of respect or else he’s going to have to leave PSG.
“Until now, we’ve been cooperative. But it can no longer continue like that otherwise we’re going to enter into a conflict. Our patience has limits.
“We like the club, the supporters, but they also have to show us a minimum of respect or else he’s going to have to leave PSG.”
