Arsenal line up £15m bid for former Man United man – report
Arsenal are lining up a £15m bid to sign Jonny Evans from West Brom this summer, according to reports
Arsenal are considering making a £15m bid to sign Jonny Evans from West Brom this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Gunners are considering making a move for the former Manchester United play as Arsene Wenger looks for defensive cover following Per Mertesacker’s serious knee injury.
The German defender is set to be out of action for at least five months after undergoing surgery, and the British newspaper is claiming that Evans has emerged as a target for the north London club.
The same story claims that Arsenal could make a move for the 28-year-old defender as early as next week as Wenger looks for his fourth summer signing at The Emirates.
The former Manchester United star joined West Brom on a permanent deal last summer after being deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford by former boss Louis van Gaal.
Arsenal have already signed one defender this summer in the form of 20-year-old Rob Holding from Bolton Wanderers.
