Arsenal, Man City receive Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang transfer update

Borussia Dortmund deliver a transfer update on their star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Borussia Dortmund insist Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang won’t be leaving the Bundesliga runners-up this summer despite reported interest from Arsenal and Manchester City.

Armenia international Henrikh Mkhitaryan is being widely-tipped to complete a move to Manchester United in the coming days as the playmaker prepares to leave Dortmund with just a year remaining on his current contract with the 2012 Bundesliga winners.

Aubameyang was one of Thomas Tuchel’s standout players in the 2015/16 Bundesliga campaign, scoring 25 goals and making three assists in 31 top-flight games in Germany.

Earlier this summer, the Gabon centre-forward was linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium after speculation that Wenger wanted the striker to bolster his attacking options.

Now, Pep Guardiola’s City side are thought to be heading Premier League interest in the 27-year-old French-born striker as the ex-Bayern Munich boss looks to revamp his Citizens squad.

However, Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has seemingly quashed talk of Aubameyang leaving Westfalenstadion in the summer transfer window.

Dortmund finished as runners-up to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga title race.

Dortmund have already lost Germany centre-half to their bitter league rivals this summer ahead of Mkhitaryan’s expected departure later this week.
