Arsenal are prepared to offer Spain striker Alvaro Morata £140,000 a week in wages, say sports
Arsenal are prepared to pay Alvaro Morata £140,000 a week in wages to join the Gunners – but the club have not yet tabled an official bid to sign the Real Madrid striker, according to reports.
Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli – writing in his column for Tribal Football – reports that the Gunners have indicated their interest in signing Spain international Morata this summer.
The same column goes on to state that Morata is currently waiting to see what the future holds for him at Real Madrid, and that both Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in signing the player this summer.
It also states that Arsenal have not yet lodged an official bid to sign the striker.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has already signalled his intention to sign a new striker this summer with the club’s failed bid to land Jamie Vardy from Leicester City.
The north London side finished second in the Premier League last season and were criticised for their lack of a clinical edge in front of goal as they finished 10 points behind champions Leicester City.
