Arsenal told to increase bid to sign star striker – report
Lyon have told Arsenal that they will need to pay £40m to sign Alexandre Lacazette this summer, say reports
Lyon have told Arsenal that they will need to pay £40m plus bonuses if they want to sign star striker Alexandre Lacazette in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is claiming that the French club have set their asking price for the striker, who Arsenal are keen to land this summer.
Lyon confirmed earlier this week that they had rejected a bid from Arsenal for the France international striker.
However, the same story claims that the French outfit had set out their price demands for the player before Arsene Wenger’s side tabled a bid believed to be around £29.3m.
The same article states that West Ham United have also had a bid – believed to be around £32m – turned down by the French club.
Arsenal are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements after the disappointment of their second placed finish in the Premier League last season, as they ended up 10 points behind surprise champions Leicester City.
The Gunners have not won the title since the 2003-04 season.
