Arsenal told to pay £42m for their next summer signing – report
Arsenal have been told that they must pay £42m to sign Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon, say reports
Arsenal are reluctant to pay the £42m asking price for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Arsenal are keen to sign the French striker this summer and have held talks about potentially bringing the forward to The Emirates in recent weeks.
However, the same report says that the north London side are currently not willing to meet Lyon’s £42m valuation of the 25-year-old striker.
The newspaper story goes on to say that the player does not have a release clause in his contract with the French side.
It also states that West Ham, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid have all expressed an interested in signing the player.
Arsene Wenger has already signalled his intention to bolster his attacking options at The Emirates this summer with the club’s failed bid to sign Jamie Vardy from Leicester City.
The Gunners have been linked with a host of players in recent weeks but have thus far only recruited midfielder Granit Xhaka and forward Takuma Asano.
