Chelsea boost as Juventus priced out of move for midfielder – report

Juventus can't afford Chelsea's valuation of midfielder Nemanja Matic, according to GazzaMercato

Juventus have been priced out of a move for Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic, according to reports in Italy.

GazzaMercato claim that the Serie A champions are interested in the towering midfielder but Juventus can’t match Chelsea’s big asking price for the former Benfica man.

The Serbia international endured a tough 2015/16 Premier League season like most of his Chelsea team-mates as Matic’s form dipped following an impressive return to Stamford Bridge.

The 27-year-old midfielder is set to play under new Blues manager Antonio Conte for the first time this season following the Italian’s appointment earlier this year.

According to GazzaMercato, Serie A champions Juventus have been put off a move for Matic after discovering Chelsea’s valuation of their defensive midfielder.

The Serbian midfielder has scored five times in 108 appearances in all competitions for the 2015 Premier League and League Cup champions since his return to west London in 2014.

Matic was also part of Carlo Ancelotti’s FA Cup-winning side before the Chelsea defensive star moved to Portuguese outfit Benfica as part of the deal to bring David Luiz to Stamford Bridge.
