Chelsea close in on £34m deal for Conte’s second signing – report
Chelsea are close to securing the signing of Napoli centre-half Kalidou Koulibaly, say reports
Chelsea are closing in on a £34m deal to sign Napoli centre-half Kalidou Koulibaly, according to reports.
Sportitalia – as reported by The Sun – claim that new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is prepared to splash the cash on the defender to shore up his rearguard options at Stamford Bridge.
The same report claims that Chelsea have been keeping tabs on the Senegal international for some time but are now closing in on a transfer deal to sign the 25-year-old.
Chelsea have been linked with a host of players as Conte prepares for his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
However, despite all of the speculation, the west London club have thus far only signed striker Michy Batshuayi from Marseille.
Conte is set to officially take over at Chelsea next week after the conclusion of Euro 2016 following his appointment as Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea endured a disastrous campaign last season as they finished 10th in the Premier League table with their title defence in tatters.
