Chelsea could make Argentina star Conte’s second signing – report
Chelsea would consider a move to sign Gonzalo Higuain if Diego Costa leaves the club this summer, say reports
Chelsea would consider a transfer bid to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli – if Diego Costa leaves the club this summer, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish outlet AS is reporting that Costa is keen on a move away from Chelsea to re-join his former employers Atletico Madrid this summer.
The same story goes on to say that Chelsea may be willing to pay Higuain’s release clause should they lose Costa in the current transfer window.
It is no surprise to see Higuain linked with some of Europe’s top clubs, with the striker having scored 36 goals in 35 Serie A games for the Italian side last season.
Incoming Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has already wrapped up the first signing of his reign at Stamford Bridge by completing the transfer of Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi on Sunday afternoon.
The Italian coach – who was in charge of his country at Euro 2016 – has been picked as the man to steer Chelsea back to the top of English football after their disastrous campaign last season led to Jose Mourinho’s sacking.
