Chelsea lead Man United in race to sign star striker – report
Chelsea are the front-runners to secure the signing of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid this summer, say reports
Chelsea are ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid this summer, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish newspaper Marca is reporting that the west London club have been stepping up their interest in bringing the Spain international to the Premier League this summer.
Antonio Conte is believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings as he prepares for his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues have already secured the services of striker Michy Batshuayi on a five-year deal as Conte looks to revamp his squad ahead of next season.
Conte was the man who convinced Morata to leave Real Madrid and sign for Juventus two years ago, before the Spanish club re-signed the striker this summer.
The same newspaper report claims that Real Madrid value Morata at £64m, and that new Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has expressed an interest in bringing the striker to Old Trafford this summer.
