Chelsea submit offer for PSG’s Uruguay striker – report
Edinson Cavani is the subject of interest from Chelsea, according to reports in France
Chelsea have made a £41.7m (€50m) offer for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani, according to reports in France.
Le Sport 10 are claiming that Cavani wants to leave the Ligue 1 champions following the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Manchester United earlier this month.
However, the same story states that PSG have put a £66.7m (€80m) price tag on Cavani’s head in an attempt to deter any interest from the Premier League side this summer.
New Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been linked with a number of different strikers in the summer transfer window despite signing Michy Batshuayi in a £34m deal from Ligue 1 side Marseille in July.
The Blues also completed a £30m deal for Leicester City’s Premier League-winning midfielder N’Golo Kante at the weekend to bolster their midfield options ahead of the new season.
Chelsea registered their first win under Conte on Wednesday night after a 3-0 victory over RZ Pellets just days following a surprise 2-0 loss to Rapid Vienna in Austria.
The west London side will face bitter rivals Liverpool in a pre-season fixture at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on 27 July.
