Chelsea have had a £40m bid for Andre Gomes rejected by Valencia this summer, say reports
Chelsea have had a £40m transfer bid for Andre Gomes rejected by Valencia as the Blues search for Antonio Conte’s second signing, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Spanish club have turned down the Blues’ approach for the midfielder this week.
The same story says that Chelsea are facing competition from Serie A champions Juventus to sign the Portugal international in the summer transfer window.
The report goes on to claim that it remains unclear whether Chelsea will return to Valencia with a higher offer for the 22-year-old midfielder.
Chelsea are currently on the lookout for further reinforcements in the summer transfer window after securing the signing of striker Michy Batshuayi from Marseille at the weekend.
Conte is set to officially take over at Stamford Bridge in the coming days after his Italy side were knocked out of Euro 2016 at the hands of Germany.
