Eden Hazard: This is how I would leave Chelsea
Eden Hazard discusses the prospect of leaving Chelsea in the years to come
Eden Hazard says he would only consider leaving Chelsea in the future after producing his best form for the club.
The 25-year-old playmaker came in for plenty of criticism last season as he struggled for form and fitness.
Hazard was an integral part of the Chelsea side who won the Premier League and League Cup in the 2014-15 season under Jose Mourinho as he was voted as the PFA player of the year.
But the playmaker struggled – like many of his team-mates last season – as the Blues limped to a 10th-placed finish in the Premier League table.
Hazard had been linked with a move away from Chelsea during the course of the season, with Real Madrid touted as a possible destination for the Belgium international.
However, Hazard has insisted that if he were to leave Chelsea one day, he would want to do so on a high.
Hazard is quoted as saying by the Daily Express: “After a season like that I wanted to stay at Chelsea because I didn’t want to finish like that.
“When I was in France at Lille, I finished my last game with them with a hat-trick. That was a good time to leave.
“If I must leave Chelsea one day, I hope I can finish well here and be a champion again.”
Chelsea finished 10th last season and missed out on a place in Europe as they gear up for life under new manager Antonio Conte.
