Insider claims Arsenal are tracking AS Roma star after bid rejected
Arsenal are pondering a bid to sign defender Kostas Manolas, according to Emanuele Giulianelli
Arsenal are keeping tabs on AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas with a view to a summer transfer, according to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli.
The Gunners have been linked with a host of players in recent weeks as Arsene Wenger bids to revamp his squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
Despite all of the speculation, however, the Gunners have thus far only signed midfielder Granit Xhaka and striker Takuma Asano this summer.
Now, Italian reporter Giulianelli is claiming that Arsenal have reignited their interest in Manolas after having a bid for the defender rejected by Roma back in April.
The proposed transfer bid for the 25-year-old would suggest that Wenger is keen to add further defensive cover for the likes of Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista at The Emirates ahead of next season.
And Giulianelli tweeted on Tuesday afternoon:
Arsenal again following Kostas Manolas after Roma rejected an offer last April.

Arsenal finished second in the Premier League table last season, 10 points behind eventual champions Leicester City as they were forced to end the campaign without a trophy.
