Insider delivers latest update on Arsenal’s link to Argentina star
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has spoken directly to Gonzalo Higuain this summer, says Emanuele Giulianelli
Arsene Wenger has spoken directly to Gonzalo Higuain about the possibility of the striker joining Arsenal from Napoli this summer, according to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli.
The north London side have been linked with a bid for the Argentina striker this summer as Wenger looks to add some more firepower to his squad at Emirates Stadium.
Wenger has already signalled his intention to bring a new striker to Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window with the club’s failed bid to sign Jamie Vardy from Leicester City.
Now, Italian journalist Giulianelli – writing in his column for Tribal Football – is reporting that Wenger has made a personal call to speak to Higuain about the possibility of a transfer to The Emirates this summer.
The same report claims that any move purely depends on whether Serie A side Napoli are willing to sell the striker in the summer transfer window, and that the player would be open to a move to Arsenal.
