Insider delivers latest update on Arsenal’s link to Germany star
Arsenal could complete a deal to sign Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia next week, according to Emanuele Giulianelli
Arsenal could sign defender Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia next week, according to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli.
The Gunners have been linked with a bid to sign the 24-year-old Valencia defender in recent days as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his rearguard options at The Emirates ahead of the 2016-17 season.
The Arsenal boss looks to be aiming to bring in a new defender after Per Mertesacker was ruled out of action for a number of months following knee surgery.
Now, Italian reporter Giulianelli is claiming that Arsenal are considering whether to up their alleged initial bid of €18m for the player.
Mustafi situation: Arsenal offered €18mln while Valencia want €25mln. The player is still potentially coming to Arsenal next week. #AFC

Arsenal have already signed one defender this summer in the form of Rob Holding from Bolton Wanderers earlier in the month.
The Gunners have also landed midfielder Granit Xhaka and striker Takuma Asano in the current transfer window.
The north London side finished in second place in the Premier League table last season and without a trophy as they ended up 10 points behind champions Leicester City.
