Insider delivers latest update on Arsenal’s link to star striker
Arsenal have not placed Alexandre Lacazette as their first-choice striker transfer target this summer, says Emanuele Giulianelli
Alexandre Lacazette is not Arsenal’s first choice in the club’s search for a new striker this summer, according to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli.
The north London side are believed to be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements as Arsene Wenger prepares his squad for the new Premier League season.
Arsenal completed their third signing of the summer on Friday as they concluded a deal to land defender Rob Holding from Bolton Wanderers.
Wenger appears to have already signalled his intention to sign a new striker this summer with the club’s failed bid to land Jamie Vardy from Leicester City before Euro 2016.
Now, Italian reporter Giulianelli is claiming that Lyon striker Lacazette is not Arsenal’s first choice in the market for a striker, and that Gunners chiefs are still looking at other attacking options.
Lacazette still not first choice. Dick Law & co. flew to Germany yesterday for transfer negotiations: striker deal or a defender. #AFC

Arsenal finished in second place in the Premier League table last season, 10 points behind surprise champions Leicester City.
The Gunners have not won the title since their famous unbeaten triumph in 2003-04.
