Insider gives latest update on Higuain and Lacazette’s links to Arsenal
Arsenal have made fresh contact with Lyon about signing Alexandre Lacazette, says Emanuele Giulianelli
Arsenal have made further contact with Lyon about the possibility of signing Alexandre Lacazette this summer, according to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli.
The Gunners are thought to be on the lookout for a new striker as Arsene Wenger looks to revamp his squad ahead of next season.
Wenger has already signalled his intention to land a new forward with the club’s failed bid to sign Jamie Vardy from Leicester City earlier in the summer.
Both Lacazette and Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain have been touted as possible targets for the north London club ahead of the new season.
However, Italian reporter Giulianelli is claiming that Arsenal have made fresh contact with Lyon about the possibility of signing Lacazette.
He goes on to state that a deal for Higuain is currently not looking to be on the cards.
Giulianelli tweeted on Monday afternoon:
Arsenal: Higuain deal looks unlikely right now. Been further contact with Lyon over Lacazette but no contact on Icardi despite reports. #afc

Arsenal finished in second place in the Premier League table last season, 10 points behind eventual champions Leicester City, as they finished the campaign without a trophy.
