Jesse Lingard: What I really think about new Man United boss Jose Mourinho

Jesse Lingard discusses what life is like under Jose Mourinho at Manchester United

Jesse Lingard has admitted that he has been very impressed with the start to life Jose Mourinho has made as Manchester United manager.

The Portuguese coach was appointed as the club’s new boss back in May after the Red Devils opted to part company with Louis van Gaal at the end of last season.

Mourinho has been working with his squad for a number of weeks now after taking charge of his first pre-season training sessions at Carrington earlier this month and then jetting off to China to continue their preparations.

And midfielder Lingard has been impressed by Mourinho’s impact at the club and is backing the manager to guide United to silverware in the seasons to come.

Speaking in an interview with MUTV, Lingard said: “The sessions are intense and hard work but the manager likes a joke and it’s been great fun so far.

“Everyone has taken a liking to him. He’s a really chilled, easy-going guy and we’re all looking forward to the season.

“He’s won a lot of trophies and we hope he can help us to win some here.”

United finished fifth in the Premier League table last season and won the FA Cup in Van Gaal’s final game in charge at Old Trafford.
