Jose Mourinho in market to sign Chelsea star for Man United – report

Jose Mourinho is still interested in bringing midfielder Nemanja Matic to Manchester United from Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.

The Sun is claiming that the newly-appointed United boss is keen on signing the Serbia international this summer, but that Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba remains his first-choice midfield option this summer.

The same story says that Juventus are also interested in signing Matic this summer as his future at Stamford Bridge under new manager Antonio Conte remains unclear.

The newspaper report goes on to claim that Chelsea would be looking for a fee of around £18m for Matic if they opt to sell the midfielder in the current transfer window.

Mourinho has already moved quickly to bolster his squad at Old Trafford since his appointment as United boss.

He has signed defender Eric Bailly and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic as he prepares for his first season in charge at Old Trafford.
