Jose Mourinho makes claim about new Man United signing and Marcus Rashford
Jose Mourinho believes that Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcus Rashford will complement each other at Manchester United
Jose Mourinho believes that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be able to bring out the best from Marcus Rashford in his development at Manchester United.
The United teenager earned plenty of praise last season after breaking into the first team under Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.
His impressive performances for the Red Devils led to him being given a call-up to Roy Hodgson’s England squad for Euro 2016.
Mourinho has moved quickly to add some more firepower to his squad this summer with the signing of experienced striker Ibrahimovic on a free transfer last week.
And the Portuguese boss, who was officially unveiled as United manager on Tuesday, is hoping that the attacking duo will be able to complement each other next season.
Speaking to MUTV, Mourinho said: “Thirty-four is his age plus 18 is Marcus Rashford’s age.
“Thirty-four plus 18 divided by two is the perfect age for a footballer – this is perfect age because neither 18 or 34 is the perfect age.
“I think they can be an amazing complement for each other.”
Mourinho has been tasked with guiding United back to the top of English football after their disappointing fifth-placed finish last season led to Van Gaal’s sacking.
