Jose Mourinho: My honest thoughts on Paul Pogba’s link to Man United
Jose Mourinho is giving nothing away regarding Manchester United's reported pursuit of Paul Pogba this summer
Jose Mourinho remained coy when quizzed about the intense speculation linking Paul Pogba with a big-money transfer to Manchester United this summer.
Pogba has been relentlessly touted as a possible target for Mourinho’s side as the Portuguese coach looks to bolster his squad ahead of his first campaign in charge at Old Trafford.
Mourinho has already brought in three new players this summer following his appointment as the club’s new manager back in May.
The new United boss is currently in China with his squad as the Red Devils continue their preparations for the new Premier League season.
Mourinho was quizzed about the reports linking Pogba to United during a news conference – but the manager was giving nothing away.
Speaking at the news conference, Mourinho said: “I don’t confirm and I don’t deny,” the boss replied when asked directly about the France midfielder. “I cannot tell you.
“First of all because I don’t think it is correct to talk about players at other clubs.
“He is a Juventus player, not a Manchester United player. All I can say is my board and directors did fantastic work to do 75 per cent of the job I asked them to do.”
United appointed Mourinho as the club’s new manager back in May after the Red Devils finished fifth in the Premier League under Louis van Gaal last season.
United won the FA Cup in Van Gaal’s final game in charge.
