Jose Mourinho reveals his remaining Man United transfer plans
Jose Mourinho discusses Manchester United's remaining transfer plans at Old Trafford
Jose Mourinho has revealed that Manchester United are still in the market for at least one more player in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have already completed the signings of 22-year-old defender Eric Bailly and veteran striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic so far this summer.
United are thought to be on the verge of completing a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan after the Red Devils agreed a fee with the German club.
Mourinho is still on the lookout for more signings, however, and revealed that he set out a transfer shortlist of four key positions that he wanted to strengthen following his appointment s United boss back in May.
And speaking at his first official news conference as United boss on Tuesday morning at Old Trafford, Mourinho delivered an update on his remaining plans for the summer transfer window.
Mourinho said: “I don’t know about changes. The third player will be official soon.
“I am very clear in my approach and model to play and I need specialists in that. I like one or two multi-functional because you need them when you are in a bit of trouble.
“I want specialists. We decided four targets. Until we have the fourth, we are still working hard. Myself, the structure, Mr Woodward, the owners – we are working hard on that.
“When we have the fourth, I breathe, we all breathe. We will not get the fourth on 31 August. We will get it before that and then we are stable.”
United finished in fifth place in the Premier League last season and won the FA Cup before opting to sack Louis van Gaal and appoint Mourinho as his successor on a three-year contract.
