Jose Mourinho steps up search for his fourth Man United signing – report

Manchester United are to send scouts to watch Reece Oxford in action, according to reports

Jose Mourinho has instructed Manchester United to send scouts to watch West Ham starlet Reece Oxford at the under-19s European Championships as he ponders a bid for the teenager, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror is claiming that United are long-term admirers of the 17-year-old and that scouts are set to watch him in action for England at the tournament in Germany, which starts on Friday.

The same story goes on to say that United have already signalled their interest in the player with a number of enquiries about his availability.

It also states that Oxford currently has two years left on his contract with West Ham United.

The report claims that Bundesliga side Red Bull Leipzig had a £10m offer for Oxford turned down by West Ham earlier in the summer.

Mourinho has moved quickly to bolster his squad at Old Trafford since his appointment as the club’s new manager back in May.
