Liverpool chasing young French full-back – report
Liverpool are interested in signing Lyon full-back Jordy Gaspar, according to reports in France
Liverpool are in the hunt to sign Lyon full-back Jordy Gaspar, according to reports in the French media.
L’Equipe are claiming that the 19-year-old defender is a target for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp as the Reds look to further strengthen their defence ahead of the 2016/17 Premier League campaign.
The French media outlet are reporting that Liverpool face competition from Germany as Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen are also interested in the Lyon prospect, who can play at right-back or left-back.
Klopp has completed seven signings in the summer transfer window so far as the Liverpool manager looks to strengthen his squad before his first full season in the Premier League.
Loris Karius moved to the Reds in a £4.7m deal from Mainz earlier this summer before Klopp wrapped up the £30m transfer of Sadio Mane to Liverpool from Southampton.
Joel Matip and Marko Grujic linked up with the Reds squad this month after agreeing deals earlier this year.
And Klopp has also added Ragnar Klavan, Alex Manninger and £25m signing Georginio Wijnaldum to his squad in July.
