Liverpool are confident of sealing the transfer of Georginio Wijnaldum this summer, say reports

Liverpool are confident that they can conclude the signing of Georginio Wijnaldum from Newcastle United this week and are currently leading the chase for the midfielder’s signature, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Telegraph is claiming that the Reds are feeling sure that they will be able to push through a deal to bring the Netherlands international to Anfield as they prepare for Jurgen Klopp’s first full season in charge.

The story goes on to say that Newcastle are holding out for a £27m fee for the player, however Liverpool are sure that they can push through a deal for a price closer to £20m in the coming days.

The article states that Liverpool are planning to hold talks over a possible deal before the Reds jet off to the United States for their pre-season tour on Thursday.
