Liverpool are preparing a £12m offer for Moussa Sissoko for after Euro 2016, according to reports in France
Liverpool are weighing up a £12m offer to sign France and Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko, according to reports.
The relegated Magpies star has made no secret of his desire to join Arsenal this summer in spite of Arsene Wenger already signing Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka in a £33m deal from Borussia Monchengladbach.
However, the France midfielder could still navigate a path out of St James’s Park in the summer transfer window amid interest from Arsenal’s Premier League rivals in the box-to-box midfielder.
Sissoko has made three appearances for Didier Deschamps’s Les Bleus side in the European championship so far as France prepare to take on Iceland in the Euro 2016 quarter-finals.
According to a story in French newspaper L’Equipe – as reported by talkSPORT, Liverpool are ready to make a £12m move to sign Sissoko after Euro 2016 as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his midfield options ahead of the 2016-17 season.
Getfootballnewsfrance.com also cites the same story, claiming that Sissoko has his heart set on a transfer away from St James’ Park.
Sissoko scored one goal in 37 Premier League appearances for the Magpies last season.
Klopp’s Reds side are due to report for pre-season training at Melwood on Saturday as the German coach starts his preparations for his first season in charge at Anfield.
