Liverpool ready to launch fresh bid for Barcelona star – report
Liverpool will make a fresh attempt to sign Barcelona starlet Cristian Tello, according to reports in Italy
Liverpool are ready to reignite their interest in Barcelona’s out-of-favour forward Cristian Tello, according to reports.
The Reds were previously linked with the Spanish winger during Brendan Rodgers’s three-and-a-half year spell in charge of the 18-time English champions but a move failed to materlialise.
Tello, who has been loaned out in recent seasons, has struggled to secure regular first-team football at Barcelona under manager Luis Enrique as the Catalan side continue to dominate La Liga.
The 22-year-old went on loan to Portuguese side Porto and Serie A outfit Fiorentina in recent seasons, moving to La Viola for the second half of the 2015/16 season.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Liverpool are ready to make a fresh offer for the Barcelona winger, although the Reds could face competition from Premier League rivals Southampton.
Tello scored two goals in 15 appearances in Serie A for Fiorentina during his short-term loan at the Italian club last term.
