Liverpool set to miss out on Portugal midfielder – report
Inter Milan are set to beat Liverpool to Portugal star Joao Mario, according to reports in Italy
Liverpool are set to be disappointed in the race to sign Portugal midfielder Joao Mario this summer, according to reports in the Italian media.
Calcio Mercato are claiming that Inter Milan are leading Liverpool in the race to sign the Sporting Lisbon playmaker in the summer transfer window.
The same report suggests that Inter are willing to match Mario’s contract release clause of £51m (€60m) in order to beat the Reds to the signing.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has already been very busy in the summer transfer window after recruiting four new players for his squad.
Loris Karius swapped Mainz for Liverpool in a £4.7m deal in May before the Reds completed a £30m swoop for Southampton forward Sadio Mane.
The Merseyside outfit have also added Serbian midfielder Marko Grujic and Schalke defender Joel Matip to their squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
