Liverpool to battle with Juventus for France midfielder – report
Liverpool will rival Juventus for the signing of Moussa Sissoko, according to ESPN
Liverpool and Juventus will battle it out for the signature of Moussa Sissoko, according to reports in the British media.
ESPN are claiming that Liverpool are looking at the Newcastle United midfielder as a potential option to bolster their midfield ahead of the start of the 2016/17 Premier League season.
The same article claims that Serie A champions Juventus are also interested but Sissoko would prefer to stay in the Premier League, which should come as a boost to the Reds.
The French midfielder was part of Didier Deschamps’s les Bleus side that reached the European championship final before a 1-0 defeat by Portugal in extra time in Paris earlier this month.
Sissosko scored one goal and made seven assists in 37 Premier League games for the Magpies last season as the former Lyon man was powerless to prevent their relegation to the Championship.
Liverpool have already added five new players to their squad over the summer months, with Jurgen Klopp wrapping up a £5m deal for Estonia captain Ragnar Klavan from Bundesliga side Augsburg.
Marko Grujic, Joel Matip, Sadio Mane and Loris Karius have also been added to the Reds squad this summer.
