Lyon deliver latest update on Arsenal’s pursuit of Alexandre Lacazette
Lyon insist that Alexandre Lacazette wants to stay at the French club beyond the summer transfer window
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is convinced that Alexandre Lacazette will stay at the club beyond the summer and says there has been no official offer from Arsenal.
The north London club have been reported to be keeping tabs on the French striker this summer as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his attacking options at The Emirates.
Wenger has made no secret of his desire to strengthen his attack this summer after failing in his bid to lure Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy to the club.
There have been suggestions that Arsenal have singled out France international Lacazette as their next transfer target.
However, Lyon president Aulas seems to be convinced that the striker is going nowhere in the summer transfer window.
Speaking in an interview with L’Equipe, Aulas said: “I saw Arsene during France’s matches and he has not told me.
“I don’t think it’s something and it seems Alex wants to spend this season with Lyon in the new stadium.
“He wants to know an adventure in the Champions League could be much better than last season. I think he will stay with us and we are very happy.”
Arsenal finished second in the Premier League table last season, 10 points behind eventual champions Leicester City.

The north London side have been linked with a host of players this summer but have thus far only signed Granit Xhaka and Takuma Asano.
