Man United boost as £30m midfielder texts manager ahead of transfer – report
Man United target Henrikh Mkhitaryan sent a text to Dortmund manager ahead of Old Trafford move
Henrikh Mkhitaryan has text Thomas Tuchel to inform the Borussia Dortmund manager of his pending move to Manchester United, according to reports in Germany.
The Armenia international has been heavily linked with a £30m move to Old Trafford in recent days as Jose Mourinho looks to secure the second signing of his United career following his appointment in June.
Mkhitaryan has been linked with United’s Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea this summer but the Red Devils have emerged as favourites to land the highly-rated 27-year-old midfielder in the summer transfer window.
According to German media outlet Bild, Mkhitaryan text Tuchel a couple of weeks ago indicating his desire to join United despite holding negotiations with Dortmund over a new contract.
Bild report that the playmaker’s text read: “I go to Manchester United.”
Mkhitaryan scored 11 times and made eight assists in 31 Bundesliga appearances for Dortmund in the 2015/16 season.
United finished in fifth place in the Premier League last term.
