Man United boost as PSG midfielder flies to England for transfer talks – report
France midfielder Blaise Matuidi has flown to England for talks over Premier League move, according to Goal
Blaise Matuidi was in England to discuss a move to the Premier League amid talk of the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder joining Manchester United, according to Goal.
The 29-year-old is currently on international duty with France as Didier Deschamps’s les Bleus side look to win the European championship on home soil, emulating their compatriots who won the World Cup in France in 1998.
Matuidi has previously been linked with a move to 2015 Premier League champions Chelsea but a transfer has failed to materialise following the appointment of Italy head coach Antonio Conte.
However, according to Goal, Matuidi was given permission to fly to England to discuss a potential move to United in the summer transfer window.
The France midfielder will be back in action for Deschamps’s side when the hosts take on world champions Germany in the European championship semi-finals on Thursday night.
Matuidi scored four goals and made six assists in 31 Ligue 1 appearances for Laurent Blanc’s PSG side last season as the French capital club eased to the top-flight title.
