Man United plan to hijack Tottenham’s bid for £16.5m striker – report
Man United could launch a bid for Tottenham target Vincent Janssen, according to Daily Express
Manchester United want to hijack Tottenham Hotspur’s £16.5m bid to sign Vincent Janssen, according to the Daily Express.
The Lilywhites have been heavily linked with a move to sign the Netherlands international from Eredivisie outfit AZ Alkmaar.
However, Spurs target Janssen has expressed his frustration at his employers refusing to negotiate with the Premier League side after a £12m offer.
According to the Daily Express, United manager Jose Mourinho is ready to capitalise on uncertainty surrounding Tottenham’s attempts to sign Janssen.
West Ham have also been linked with the 21-year-old striker, who finished as the Eredivisie’s top goal-scorer last season after a return of 27 goals.
United have been previously touted as a potential destination for England and Tottenham striker Harry Kane in the summer transfer window.
Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is thought to be desperate to add more attacking depth to his squad this summer and end their over-reliance on Kane.
