Anthony Martial has spoken to one Man United supporter about his enforced number change
Anthony Martial has confirmed that he is happy to wear number 11 next season despite being stripped of No9 by Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to one Manchester United supporter on Twitter.
The France international was dethroned as United’s number nine last week after the Swedish legend revealed what number shirt he will be wearing this term following his summer switch to Old Trafford from Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.
Martial emulated the likes of Andy Cole and Robin van Persie last season when the 21-year-old was handed the number nine jersey after a £36m switch from Ligue 1 side Monaco in a £36m deal last summer under Jose Mourinho’s predecessor Louis van Gaal.
The United striker was reported to have unfollowed his employers on Twitter following the number change before Martial re-followed United on the social media site.
But one fan who bumped into Martial on the centre-forward’s summer holiday in Greece has lifted the lid on his conversation with the France international.

Martial scored 11 goals in his first season in the Premier League.
United will start their Premier League campaign with a trip to Bournemouth on 14 August.
