Manchester United are battling with Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid over Andre Gomes, say reports

Manchester United are facing competition from Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid in the race to sign Andre Gomes from Valencia this summer, according to reports in Spain.

El Mundo Deportivo is reporting that the Red Devils are keen to bring the 22-year-old Portugal midfielder to Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho looks to further bolster his squad.

However, the same report also states that United are facing a battle with Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid – who are all keen on signing the Euro 2016 winner in the summer transfer window.

The story says that Madrid are believed to be winning the race to sign the midfielder this summer. It also claims that Valencia value the player at around £54m.

United are believed to be on the lookout for further reinforcements as Mourinho prepares for his first season in charge of the Old Trafford outfit.
