Mohamed Elneny is ready for his first full season in the Premier League after the Arsenal midfielder returned to London ahead of pre-season training.

The Egypt international was a big hit in his first few months as a Gunners player after Arsene Wenger signed the defensive midfielder from Swiss champions Basel in January.

Elneny wasted no time making a positive impression on Arsenal fans and the 23-year-old was voted the club’s player of the month for April and May in spite of their disappointing end to the season.

The midfielder will be facing increased competition for places at the north London side this coming season after Wenger signed Switzerland international Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach.

However, Elneny appears to be relishing the prospect of the new campaign as he posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption: “Back to London”

The January signing scored his first goal for Arsenal in a 3-1 defeat by Barcelona in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 clash.

Elneny’s goal was voted Arsenal’s best of the 2015/16 season.
