New Chelsea signing explains decision to sign for the Blues

N'Golo Kante is thrilled to finally be a Chelsea player

N’Golo Kante has revealed his delight at finally completing his transfer to Chelsea on Saturday.

The France international midfielder signed a five-year contract with the west London club on Saturday afternoon after days of speculation linking him with a switch to Stamford Bridge.

Kante played a key role in helping Leicester City win the Premier League title last season as his displays in central midfielder provided a solid base for Claudio Ranieri’s men.

And Kante revealed that the opportunity to work under new Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was a key reason behind his decision to sign for the Blues, even if the west London club will be without Champions League football next season.

Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, Kante said: “I am so happy to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in Europe. It’s a dream come true for me.

“The opportunity to work with Antonio Conte, a brilliant coach, and some of the best players in the world was simply too good to turn down.

“My first season in English football was very special and now I hope to go on to achieve even more during my time as a Chelsea player. I am looking forward to meeting up with my new team-mates and helping the club achieve a lot of success.”
