New Chelsea signing’s two-word response to life under Conte
Michy Batshuayi is loving life as a Chelsea player...
Michy Batshuayi admits that he has been thrilled by how his start to his Chelsea career has unfolded.
The Belgium striker became the west London club’s first signing of the summer transfer window and new manager Antonio Conte’s first recruit when he penned a five-year deal with the Blues.
Batshuayi has been getting to know his new team-mates and manager since committing his future to the west London club.
He made his first appearance for the Blues in the pre-season friendly clash against WAZ RZ Pellets last week.
And when asked to sum up how he is feeling about life as a Chelsea player, Batshuayi told the club’s website: “Very happy!”
Batshuayi went on to reveal that he is thoroughly enjoying working under new manager Conte, who has been chosen as the man to guide Chelsea back to the top of English football following the sacking of Jose Mourinho back in December.
He continued: “I have a perfect relationship with the coach.
“I already feel like I am progressing a lot under him. I am still young, 22, and I am happy to have a great coach who will make me improve.
‘Training has been very tactical and very physical, it’s been on another level.”
