New Tottenham signing delivers verdict on Harry Kane
Vincent Janssen is looking forward to the prospect of playing with Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane
Vincent Janssen has spoken of his excitement ahead of playing with Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane this season after the Netherlands international moved to White Hart Lane earlier this month.
The 22-year-old centre-forward moved to the Lilywhites in an £18.5m deal from Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar, ending weeks of speculation surrounding his future.
The summer signing featured in Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat by La Liga side Atletico Madrid in their most-recent pre-season friendly in Australia on Friday.
Kane is still making the most of his summer holidays after been giving an extended break by Mauricio Pochettino following England’s disappointing campaign at the European championship.
And Janssen is eagerly anticipating the prospect of working alongside Kane at Tottenham this season ahead of their opener against Everton at Goodison Park on 14 August.
“The boys are helping me settle in,” Janssen told Sky Sports News HQ.
“He’s [Kane] one of the best strikers in the world, so of course it will be nice to play with him.”
The Dutch forward scored 19 times in 34 Eredivisie appearances for AZ Alkmaar in the 2015/16 season.
Tottenham finished in third place in the Premier League table last season after a four-game winless run to end the campaign allowed Arsenal to hoist themselves above their bitter north London rivals.
