Paul Pogba has told friends that he is ready to secure a transfer back to Manchester United this summer, according to reports in France.
French newspaper L’Equipe – as reported by The Sun – is claiming that the midfielder has “clearly expressed” that he will seal a move to Old Trafford.
United have been heavily linked with a bid to re-sign the star midfielder in recent days as new manager Jose Mourinho searches for his fourth summer signing.
The Red Devils have so far recruited defender Eric Bailly, striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan so far this summer as Mourinho sets about revamping his squad ahead of next season.
Now, French outlet L’Equipe has claimed that Pogba has “clearly expressed his desire to complete the circle by returning to Manchester United.”
It remains to be seen whether Pogba will become the Red Devils’ next summer acquisition but the murmurs in the media this week strongly suggest that a deal for the France international could be on the cards.
United appointed Mourinho as their new manager following their fifth-placed finish under Louis van Gaal last season.
