Pedro Rodriguez comments on Chelsea star Eden Hazard
Pedro Rodriguez is backing Eden Hazard to bounce back from Chelsea's disappointing season
Pedro Rodriguez has insisted that Eden Hazard has all of the qualities necessary to bounce back from his disappointing season last term with Chelsea.
The Belgian playmaker came in for plenty of criticism last season as he struggled for form and fitness like many of his Chelsea colleagues.
The Blues endured a disastrous start to the title defence and ended up sacking Jose Mourinho back in December, before they limped to a 10th-placed finish in the Premier League.
Hazard had helped the Blues win the Premier League title in the 2014-15 season as he was voted as the PFA player of the year.
Pedro has experience of playing alongside Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi – and the midfielder feels that Hazard has the potential to get closer to the Argentine’s level in the coming seasons.
Pedro is quoted as saying by the Daily Express: “When it comes to Messi, we are talking about a player I believe is still the best in the world. He really is on a different level to other players.
“But Hazard is a very, very good player, you can see his technique is excellent and he has shown everything at Chelsea.
“He is still young, so he is going to continue improving to one day be among the very best in the world.
“It’s always going to be difficult to compete with a player of Lionel’s ability, but Eden has all the qualities to do exactly that.
“He has that ability and talent to stand out from the crowd, to make the difference and be decisive. When you see him produce moments of magic, it is easy to draw comparisons with Messi.”
Chelsea are currently getting to grips with life with Antonio Conte as the club’s new manager following his appointment earlier this year.
